ABOUT

FireGround  Fraternity began in 2016 with the idea of taking action to improve the fire service. So why FireGround Fraternity? What is in a name? I looked at the definition. The FireGround is the area in which firefighting operations are carried on. It is where the metal meets the meat. It is where the battles are fought and won. This is where our memories are made, good or bad. This is where our bonds of brotherhood are formed. A fraternity is defined as 1. a group of people sharing a common profession or interests and 2. the state or feeling of friendship and mutual support within a group. Essentially it’s the brotherhood. Ironically the Urban Dictionary hits the nail on the head with it’s definition. A group of men who share a bond of brotherhood that most people cannot understand. It is sometimes compared to that of a family. So now that you’ve made it this far welcome to the FireGround Fraternity family.

In July of 2017 FireGround Fraternity's mission and vision focused on providing support to military veterans, firefighters, and those aspiring to be firefighters.

FireGround Fraternity’s mission is to provide support for military veterans, firefighters, and those aspiring to join these ranks through social networking, professional development, training, and good old-fashioned LEADERSHIP.

FireGround Fraternity’s vision is to accomplish our mission to provide support for military veterans, firefighters, and those aspiring to join these ranks to foster the fraternity, improve the profession, improve our collective health, and help decrease suicide rates across our profession.

I was born in Northern Illinois as Eddie Levy. These days more people know me as Charlie 10. I am a firefighter paramedic and a veteran of the United States Army. I founded FireGround Fraternity in 2016 with the hope that I could help leave the fire service a little better than I found it.
